If I'm not mistaken, all Duratec V6 motors are interference engines. HOWEVER, do feel free to Google and see what you can find as honestly it has been a long time since I worked on one of those.

If it is intereference, is the car worth fixing or should I just get rid of it?

I would not mind having a mercury sable LS THEY have the peppier v6 24 valve Duratec. I thought of swapping my TOYOTA for 24 valve sable if i could get $100 cash difference . The Sable 24 valve v6 plus $100.00 cash for my TOYOTA it retails easily for $4,000.00 CAMRY.

No worries about the 3.0 v6 24 valve mercury sable engine because it does not have a timing belt . It has a timing chain therefore it IS A NON---INTERFERENCE ENGINE. FORD & MERCURY V6 24 VALVE DURATEC ENGINE.
