I have a 97 mountaineer and it turns over slowly even after I put a new battery in it, is this normal?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I haven't had this vehicle very long and was wondering if it was normal activity for this type of vehicle.

assure the second cable from the black lead is connected to the block....clean the stud with a wirebrush this might be the thing stoppin' all that amperage (60) or so amps from getting thru~....also both posts and clamps get them clean...use only water...no bS~ (baking soda)~ put it back with restored connections assuming that the battery is newer then TEN and tests at 12.5 volts....get a new one if this is not the case~

I would check all battery, solenoid and starter connections. Also check frame/motor ground connections. If all these look good and still doing the same thing then I would look into replacing solenoid and starter.
