My 1997 Mountaineer has remanats of a mouse nest inside the ductwork and I get little volume of air from the heater or defroster. How do I clean this out?

I pulled some of mouse nest stuff out of a "door" behind the glove
compartment but the heater plugged up again.

Sounds like you are on the right track. You may need to do something to get the entire nest cleared. Have you tied taking the motor out of the blower assembly and the hooking up a shopvac to either suck out stuff or blow it all the way through to your cabin vents? Other than that, you need to do some disassembly to find and remove the remainder of the material clogging the air ducts.
