idles rough

You probably have a vacuum leak, either the pcv hose from the intake, or even an egr valve gasket gone bad. A shop with a smoke machine can find vacuum leaks.

I don't know if the 97 has the same idles setting as the 98 but i already went to 2 different shop and they told me for this car it is normal.
