2019 equinox hands free ringer won't stop ringing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello.  I have a 2019 equinox that I am having an
issue with. Every time I get an incoming call,  it
says it is answered,  but it won't stop ringing even
after I have hit end. I can't hear anyone on the other
end of the call.  It doesn't matter if I answer from
the steering wheel,  the touchscreen,  or the phone.
If I decline the call,  it stops ringing.  I have done
everything I can think of. Reset everything to
factory settings,  disconnected the phone and
reconnected it. I still have to shut the car off for at
least 3 minutes for it to stop ringing.  I have an
appointment on Monday at Chevy for them to fix it
or try to, just thought I would ask if anyone else
has had this problem.  It's very frustrating.

Thanks.

I tried it using a different phone and it worked perfect. It all started after the Samsung update. I can ignore a call and the ringer will stop, and I can call people with no issue. I'm still bringing it on Monday to the dealership, but unfortunately I think it has something to do with the phone update. Unless you don't have a Samsung that just updated. Then I would be interested to see what they can do

You have a clue then. You may need to talk to Samsung instead of the dealer.

I have an S9 and your right this started after the update. If I have it plugged in using Android Auto and push the Google microphone button it stops the ringing.

They said it's the phone. Tried 4 other phones and worked perfectly.

This is happening to me too. I went to Verizon tonight and they told me there was nothing they could do for me. They said I should disconnect my phone from my car and not use it until another update went through and hopefully it fixes it then. Not the answer I wanted to hear. Has anyone else been able to correct the problem?

Glad to see I am not the only one out there having this problem! My car also has gone crazy since I updated my s9. Wont stop freaking ringing! Its annoying. I have to turn my car off for several minutes and pray no one else calls or simply unpair my phone. I just got another update on my phone tonight and installed hoping it would fix the problem...I have never had back to back updates on my phone before...it did not work! Still keeps ringing! Wouldn't be a big deal if unpairing the phone would fix it....but not even that works once the ringing starts unless you turn off car which isnt always convenient while driving! Grrrrrr

I'm having the same issue. GRRR. I can make calls, just cant take any incoming. Rings and the only fix I found to take the continuous ringing is to turn down the volume, pull over and turn off the car then open the drivers door. Not the best solution to this issue. I too had back to back updates on my Samsung and it wasn't fixed.

It’s the communication systems you have to either shut off Bixby or google assistant. You can only use one or the other.

I just bought a 2019 Chevy Equinox and i am also having trouble with phone. when i'm in the car with phone , my phone volume turns down automaticly and if the car phone rings there is no ringer volume. Also if i'm in the house with my phone and my husband goes out to car and starts it my phone volume in house mutes so i have to keep checking it .UGH. Been back and forth to dealer. Can't figure it out. They paired their phone to another Equinox 2019 in parking lot and had same trouble. Anyone have this prblem?

Hello there, I wish to get an Equinox 2019. Apart from the mobile phone connection, what are your impressions about: power engine, fuel consumption and comfort level. Thank you guys for answering

I have the same problem the car phone wont stop ringing it wont let me answer it wont stop ringing. By the time I went to the dealership it stopped he said he never heard of anything like that. They thought I was nuts.

I also have this problem and have an S9. I disabled the phone from the Bluetooth and set it up as if it was brand new. The problem was resolved
