AWD Shifter, how fast can you drive to shift

Hi there, i recently got a 2019 gmc terrain awd.  It has an awd shifter, and i was
wondering how fast you can go to shift into awd, or do you need to be in park?

I wouldn't have asked the question if it said that in the owners manual. It made no reference if I could shift on the fly.

It most certainly does. The 2019 Terrain owners manual states vehicle must be in Park to shift between Fwd and Awd or back. However the 2018 and the 2020 Terrain model owners manual do not say this. But neither the 2018 or 2020 do not say you can shift “on the fly”. Checkout last sentence in the first paragraph under Driver Mode Control.
