1992 Mercury Capri will not start

Was running great then lost power and died. Would not start. Did start next day but done the same thing
(lost power and died). I replaced fuel pump and coil. There is no spark from plugs.

make sure timing is correct, may have jumped time...if so replace chain & gears
wow does anybody know what the hell they are talking about? this car has a timing belt not a timing chain! and the no start condition is most likely the fuel cut off switch in the trunk it is easily tripped and is the simplest place to start even a harsh bump can set it off
and as far as the no spark is concerned the distributor caps and rotors on these engines are touchy check to make sure the points are clean and the rotor shaft has no play
Have similar problem with my /91 Capri. ECM was bad, as the heater core was leaking into the EVM (poor design placement), and causing intermittent problem. Car still "dies" every once in a while, and won't immediately restart - try this: Turn the ignition key to the "on" position, then count to 10. Car should start, as the 10 seconds allows the ECM to reset . Hope it helps. Ray
