The fan is on the way out. It's using to much power. And binding up. Replace it.

That's true, B-Mark is right, but what fuse...?? do you mean in dash

Or under hood power distribution ..I don't see a 75 anywhere, and a 75 is WAY more than a blower needs, it must be some main, hopefully they didn't put a 75 where a lower one is supposed to be .click to size up

How do/did U know it was a 75A fuse road service replaced? Did he tell U that? Can U contact him? So it 's def the radiator cooling fan? As there's also one for the pwr steering in my 06 S.

AA man did the fault diagnosis on BMW site. It told him to replace fuse on Engine management fuse..When he did this fan worked but blew again

Just because the fan stopped working dose NOT mean the fan is the course. It's the most obvious and certainly be checked out but it could be something else.

Had same problem with my 2002 Cooper S. Overheated, fuse blown. Gargare replaced fuse twice & the third fuse worked on tick over for 3 hours plus, went to collect it; temp gauge showing at max & car steaming (they'd only looked away for a couple of minutes). Became a real saga. Both radiator fan & pas cooling fan replaced in July 2017 (this now only August 2018). The independent garage I use diagnosed a faulty fan & fought my cause with BMW to replace it under warranty. BMW charged £120 to do a diagnostic test;,they told them the fan wasn't faulty & no wiring defects! My lovely friendly garage wasn't going to give up on N1 MYM. They did 5 hours detective work to discover that there was a broken/wiring fault from the relay to the fan module but it was only on the SECOND FAN SPEED. I.e. It would run for hours on tick over but when driven and the second fan cut in, with air con and other electrics it failed & blew the fuse. Well done to Russ & Graham at Mount Garage,(Lower Kingswood) you found the fault that 'BMTroubleyou's ' wonderful, expensive diagnostic kit missed! Really proud of you guys & thank you for all the effort you put it to track this fault down. Hope this might help some of you Mini Owners out there experiencing the same problem.
