How is the oil level? Maybe, just MAYBE the oil pressure/level got low and the ECU shut down the engine. It's Chicken Soup! It couldn't hurt.

http://www.motortrend.com/cars/2005/mitsubishi/galant/recalls/ There was a re-call on the ignition switch for the 2005 Mitsu Galant. (Re-call issued in 2008) Although it's not a starting problem, it may be somehow related

Wtf. Everything's checked out runs great then not at all. Charged battery then starts. Or not. After I shut it off it won't start again. Give it 45 mins it stsrsts again. Just put a ground coming from the battery. But it still won't running unless I keep my foot on the gas. What is wrong with this thing it purrs and everything looks great under the hood. Wtf.

I have a similar issue and was told it may be my charging sensor for my 2002 mitsubishi galant 4cyl. A friend purchased it for me, so I will know for sure tomorrow when the mechanic arrives.
