Check engine/AWD

I personally wouldn't. Have a shop check it out before decide to drive it. Any garage will be able to scan for the trouble codes.
Well thankfully I brought vehicle to a dealer 30 minutes away. Turns out that a rodent possibly chewed away at some wiring ... connected to crank shaft or something ... had to leave vehicle till Monday afternoon. $400 later. Damage warranty does not apply to animal vandalism.

When I tried tto start my 2015 Highland this morning, a "check AWD system" warning light came on and everything was flashing (the clock, radio, A/C panels). The car wouldn't start but it said the ignition was on. We disconnected the battery and reconnected it. The warnings disappeared and the car started. Took it to the dealer and they found nothing wrong except we needed a new battery. Surprised that it just didn't indicate that it needed a battery instead of giving me a check AWD system warning light.
