I cant say for sure but it doesnt sound like an unreasonable rpm for that speed.

yeah, that sounds about right...is this a stickshift with 5 speed overdrive capabilities-
I have a 2010 Outlander AWD 4 cylinder with Auto trans. and 3,000 RPM sounds a bit high if you're cruising steady at 70 MPH and not hitting the gas, IMO.

outlander a 4-banger or a big V8...perhaps we're comparing apples and other apples.
Confirmed on my drive home from work....cruising at a steady 70 MPH, my RPM's were in the 2,000-2,200 range, never as far as 3,000 RPM....Tia, I'll assume you have the 4 cylinder model as well. You may want to check Auto Tranny fluid level ..have a mechanic check it out ..couldn't hurt. @ Bob...Outlander is only available with 4 or 6 cylinder.

CVT transmission has me at 2200 rpm at 65 mph---kinda autobahnish-
Also, the 2004 wasn't available with a manual transmission. I may be wrong, but I don't think it was EVER offered with one.
