Did the battery light come on before it stalled? If so alternator. Other thinks can operate at a low voltage just not your starter.

I don't know if the light came on was driving on the highway and the car just stalled. It's just baffling that there are no codes.

Ok replace or charge the battery. If it still does it after the charge change the battery. The clicking noise is the starter unable to fully engage. If you can or are capable to check the voltage on the battery should be about 12.4. If jumping it didnt work you may have a bad cell and voltage would be low. Thats where u should have started first. If voltage is ok check the wires for corrosion and they are not loose. If thats ok id remove the starter and get it checked before you replace it. Autozone will check starters and alternators..

I have the same ptoblem. We barely bought a 2003 mitsubishi and we put $30 of gas and it still says empty I think the stick thing don't work how much would it cost to get a new empty full sensor and then we bought a new battery to it to and it still doesn't turn on but the beeping nose when having the door open works.

On a 2002 MITSUBISHI diamante there is a connector( underneath the dash)**above the interior fuse panel- 5 pin...in it is a computer chip pull it out gently ans see if any of the circuits are burned! This is part of a factory security system...good luck

I have a 01 diamante and from what I read and researched there is no compatible vehicles listed or interchangeable starters.. You just have to buy one new or from junk yard used... The starter is located under thebdrivees side aeea and accessible from under the car..
