By the symptoms you described, I would say yes, very likely. If it had been a timing belt it would have just stopped suddenly. But you need to find a qualified technician to check the fuel pressure.

Is there a way I can check the fuel preassure ? No one wants to just look at what I ask especially me being a female. I tend to try to figure out what's going on and fix it myself.
