2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Asked by Flower Jun 20, 2020 at 11:00 PM about the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS

Question type: General

My 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse quit running while in reverse. I
thought it was the front ECU and replaced it but it still won't
fire. It will turn over but it wont fire. What all could be wrong
with it? This is my first vehicle, so I apologize for not
knowing much.

So you replaced the ECU, did you program the ignition and or key when you replaced it? IT take special diagnostic equipment. You local garage or dealer can help.

Put the old ECU back on and start with basic troubleshooting. Spray some quick start in the throttle body and see if it runs for a bit. If it doesn't, check spark. If spark is ok, check compression, timing chain might've skipped a tooth
