I am about to buy a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse with 92k. I there anything I should be looking for that need immediate repair? or anything that will go wrong in the near future?

Uh I would check all the belts and spark plugs and give it a good test drive paying close attention to how it shifts.

Timing belt. If has not been replaced have it checked. It is about that time for it with those miles. if it breaks or jumps time you will have bent valves to deal with, If you replace it change water pump too.
