Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I realized that when the car is parked
heavy smoke is coming from the
muffler. But when it is in drive no
smoke. So do you think my water
pump is the issue for my car running
hot still and do think that will help
with the smoke too.

What color is the smoke? Black smoke= unburned fuel. White smoke = coolant. White smoke is a problem. A big problem.

Your description sounds like a blown head gasket or warped head. Is there any kind of milky substance under the oil filler cap? If so... TRUBLE. pull head(s) to find the problem.

These answers are great and very possible, but no one has mentioned the cooling fan circuits or operations of them. Also very possible... Mark...
