MY CAR HAS SAT PARKED IN MY UNDERGROUND CONDO GARAGE FOR
OVER 3 YEARS. I KNOW IT NEEDS A NEW BATTERY IN ORDER TO START.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I PROACTIVELY LOOK OUT FOR? IE: OIL, FUEL ETC
CONTAMINANTS? I WANT TO GET THE CAR BACK ON THE ROAD AGAIN
DRIVING. WHAT DO I DO?
Check ALL fluid levels . Check for leaks under the car . Should you find a level low and a wet spot on the garage floor find out why. Check all 4 brakes after pushing the pedal several times to be sure you have no brake fluid leaks. Change spark plugs , air filter , gas filter . Check thermostat / electric fan function for proper operation . Check all rubber boots / hoses for cracks . That should get you started. After any needed repairs drive it for a good distance and repeat all of the above.
