I would suggest a factory reset for SYNC
I am having the same problem. Instructions to do the reset require getting to the Settings screen, which is unavailable because the menu button never brings up the media settings screen! help please?
I'm having the same issue with my 2011 escape. The master reset won't work because nothing happens when I press the phone button, and holding down the media power and right week buttons just cycles through the radio stations. The only media that works is the am/fm and sat, the only other thing that even gets a response is the aux which just tells me "no aux" regardless of whether or not there's something plugged in.
My aux or USB want work wat could it be a fuse or no
Any luck anybody. Pulled fuses. Pulled battery. It comes back for a minute then poof it’s gone
Have anybody had any luck ?
I recently had this happen to me and it was immediately fixed after my battery was charged. Apparently it had been low and in order to conserve the remaining battery life it shut down. Not sure if this is the reason for everyone else’s but that was the result of mine.
I am having the same issue. Our car went in for a factory recall. When we got it back I went to hook my phone up and it is like Bluetooth never existed in the car. There is nothing when you hit the phone button, when you scroll through there is no media option or anything, I tried the USB for aux and the USB won't work to even charge my phone and when I hit aux it says no aux. It is maddening. My husband pulled the fuse and the battery and it still does not work. Has anyone had any luck?
I am having the exact same situation. Rexall work for airbag killed usb port and phone button / bluetooth ability. 2012 Ford Fusion...
My battery died a few days ago my key wasnt turned all the way off when we jumped it my aux says "no aux" when I push it ...my bluetooth aux USB nothing works it's been almost a week
seems like folks keep having this issue. It has happened to me a couple of times in my 2012 Fusion Hybrid. Basically a sustained battery disconnect pretty much works everytime. Kinda sucks since you lose the presets, time and etc... But it works. Disconnect the battery terminal for 5 minutes (not even sure if 5 minutes is even needed but I that's what I did and it worked) then reconnect. Some guy pointed to a fuse that helps reset it as well but I find the battery method easier.
Pilling the fuse and/or disconnecting the battery DOES NOT FIX MY PROBLEM. Took my car in for an airbag recall.... No sync, no aux, no USB after I got it back! They want to charge me to fix the problem #!@##%&*#!!! I want this apparent flaw fixed. Oh, it's a new battery, the 5a fuse is good also.
I had the same exact issue after airbag recall. I found that the techs didn’t plug everything back in. Take out your center console to access the two plugs that power the USB port and 12V Charger. It’s easier than you think and there is a short YouTube video on how to pull it off. One I plugged them back in everything worked normally.
Thank you, pat! Your answer/response was spot on! After the airbag recall my sync no longer worked. Pulling the fuse or disconnecting the battery didn't work. I removed the middle console and found, just as you said, the sync and usb wire harness was disconnected. I then disconnected the battery for a reset and now it works!

I have a 2015 Ford escape and I’m having the same issue. When I press the phone button the money doesn’t come up at all and when I press the media button it just goes immediately right back to radio can anyone help? It was just working yesterday and this morning and the rest of day has not worked
Hey guys. I know this thread is old, but maybe someone out there still needs a solution to this issue. I tried the fuse, I tried disconnecting the battery, and even tried Pat's suggestion above of looking for a disconnected cord. None of those worked for me. The last thing I wanted to try before paying an arm and a leg to take it to the dealership was to try to replace the APIM module/Sync module. I found out that this module is located in the back of the center console and can easily be accessed by popping off the cover of the center console from the back seat. Once I had the APIM exposed, I simply unplugged it and plugged it back in, and my sync, aux, and usb all now magically work! Didn't even have to replace it. Super easy fix, can be done in about five minutes. I couldn't find anyone mention this solution anywhere on the internet, so hopefully someone sees this and it can solve your problem. God bless! Side note: If unplugging and plugging the APIM doesn't solve your issue and you've tried all the potential fixes above, your APIM probably needs to be replaced. In that case, you can buy a used APIM/Sync Module on Ebay for about $100, sometimes cheaper. Be aware that if you have to go this route that you might need to update the software of the new APIM. Don't know too much about this as I didn't have to do it.
I tried removing the middle console but my wires were fine (I disconnected them and re connected) but no luck. I disconnected my battery for a few mins and reconnected it and everything worked. When I first turned my car on again, I hit scan on my radio but for some reason it was taking longer than usual. So I pressed the AM/FM button a couple times cycling through and all of my preset stations were still there for me, and SYNC also worked without me having to re add my phone via Bluetooth
