What if dealer sells for higher price than listed

few things you can do. number one, never set your mind on one car, this will lead you down the road of sounding desperate. go to Kelly blue book, put in the features/etc this car has and the condition of it, look at what the value shows. dealerships will always try to make as much money as possible. depending on new or used, used cars have a ton of margin to negotiate on, so start several thousand dollars below. if you're not in a rush, then come in real low, tell him/her that is your budget and your wife would kill you if you go over, and they cant control her since she's not there, do not accept or get worked into talking to multiple people, its not necessary, and wait a week or two and see if they drop it, if they don't drop it much, just say no thanks and keep them waiting, tell them you can make a deal if they continue to drop it, remember you have all the time in the world, the worst they can say is no, and if they call you back, it means they need to sell the cars. Look at their online inventory and monitor it, if its not changing much they may need to sell the car bad, they are losing money keeping the cars on the lot.

If your state has a law about such things and you have proof, take it to law enforcement.
