My 1997 Ford Expedition driver side pwr window will not roll back up..why??

It has done this once before but starting working again by the next day. Yesterday it
happened again, rolled down but not back up. All the other windows work just fine and I
have even tried rolling it up from passenger side and still nothing. Is this going to hurt my
wallet to fix and what could be causing this??

I have a feeling your window switch is working intermittently...
Remove the inside door panel on the drivers side, but to not remove the electrical connection to the switches. From the inside you should be able to move the window up with a little force. If you can get it up about four inches or so you can probably grab it and pull it up by hand. Now, from inside the door, press the window button while listening for noise in the door motor. If you head nothing, check the switch in the door. If you hear a slight noise the motor may be bad. A new door actuator motor is about a hundred bucks at the parts store.
Check your memory. The driver's side door is the one which most often goes out, because of use. The first sign is the drivers side window will go up or down slower than the other windows. If you noticed that condition, the motor is probably bad.
Thanks to you all for you input. The next morning when I got in to go to work it started working again just like the last time. Since then I have had it to stop working 2 mores times but this time it wouldn't roll down.(atleast it was up when it decided to not work)..I'm thinking it has to be the window motor going out like you said OJ because of how it is just starting to stop working for brief periods then start back working hours later, but then again I may have a wire that is lose or going bad, idk but this is "must fix" either way. Thanks again guys and I see a quick $100 or so getting ready to leave my wallet.
