Try cleaning the throttle body with a good throttle body cleaner like (CRC), you may also want to check the Crank Case Sensor. I would also look at the fuel pressure and change the fuel filter..

That's not bad advice, but an OBDII scan would help point you in the direction to look. Many parts houses will scan it, and eliminate a lot of guesswork. Before you buy anything, write down the codes and bring them back here. One of us will be happy to help with suggestions on solutions

They said air intake sensor, is that where i shoukd start and where do i go from there?

Is air intake sensor the MAF? Mass Air Flow sensor, the device right before the throttle body, after the air filter as air-flow intake goes? If some guy told you it is an 'air intake sensor' well they are correct but talking down to you as if you can't comprehend what a MAF is. There is an air intake sensor on several places. For example the EVAP system -click for full screen

I took the MAF off, it really didnt change the way it ran. It idles funny and theres a significant loss of power

If you took it off and no change, that is likely the problem. The PCM must have an accurate reading from the MAF to set the proper air/fuel trim
