The car starts, but you have to keep in running all the time, will not idle.

If it drives out normal but will not idle I would suspect a dirty or faulty idle air control valve being your problem. Which motor do you have?

Oh ok. How long since your last major tune up? (Plugs, plug wires,ect). Does it run good other than just not idling? If yes then it's probably an idle air control valve issue.

It has been a while since tune-up. But actually ran o.k. up until 2 weeks ago and then this problem described.

Bad plugs, plug wires, dirty air filter, dirty fuel filter ect can make one act this way too. Pull the plugs out and take a good look at them. Also have you noticed any black smoke coming out the tail pipe?

Got it to run idle again. I will check the fuel filter and replace the plugs.
