Will a 2013 3.7L engine work as a replacement for a 1997 3.8L?

Asked by Matthew Feb 02, 2017 at 08:17 AM about the 1997 Ford Mustang Coupe RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We've got a 1997 Mustang Base with the 3.8L v6.  It's got over 250k miles on it
and we are looking to replace it.  I can get a 2013 3.7L with less than 40k on it
for a good price.  Will it fit?  What will need to be changed?

Brother it can be done but there is allot of work that will need to be done, more then the car is worth. Get the same engine as before and be done with it. ..
