How much would it cost for a whole new engine for a Mustang 82 with side sun roof?

Asked by Briana Apr 17, 2013 at 08:20 PM about the 1982 Ford Mustang

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Im sure the enterior needs a lot of work done as well but, i want to start getting the poor thing running first. It hasn't been used since probably '03 but im just guessing. Its been sitting in the garage for quite some time and im thinking about getting it back up and running. Im looking for the price range for new engine and anything else you'd think it would probably need. Thanks.

Does it really need a new engine? I'm going to try to talk you out of this money pit project.

If the old engine still runs, it could be freshened up. You'll need around $10- $15,000 to go through the entire car for a daily driver rebuild.
