Nissan XTerra SE 2005 engine keeps smelling really hot like burning oil after 30+ miles of driving. What could be causing this?

After driving my new used 2005 Nissan XTerra for about 30 or more miles on
the expressway, I've noticed it smells like burning oil when I come to a stop. I
had a new oil pump put in right after I got it. No engine lights come on. Oil is
filled, so that's not a problem. It smells like burning oil, and only after I've
driven it for 20 or 30 minutes at high speed. Very worrisome.

It's not coming out the tail pipe is it? And the only thing that gets hot enough to cause a oil burning smell is the exhaust. Maybe look at the valve covers?

Is there any hesitation at all? Was also thinking the catalytic converter may starting to get plugged.
