Are you insane? You can purchase a hardtop for much less than a convertible. In most convertibles there is a strengthening of frame and or body to compensate for a convertible. Is there an issue with the top?

The car above is the only production car that the convertible is less than a hardtop (a different model). With the hardon Cayman having a higher horsepower.
