Scanner test for transmission

Asked by Seyed Sep 07, 2016 at 01:30 PM about the 2004 Nissan Altima 2.5 S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light is NOT coming on, but I feel
there's something wrong with my transmission.
Could a scan test read any code in this case? Is
there any hidden code stored?
A transmission shop wants to charge me 70$ for a
scan test while my check engine light is NOT on.
Shall I go for it?
