Most likely yes you will do both on a 5 year old rig. Of course there are exceptions, find one you like, have it checked over by a good independent shop. Stay away from the small engine ones. The lower the mileage the better.
Generally speaking they're good vehicles. But it could go either way. It could be a great vehicle or nothing but trouble. I use my 4/40 rule when looking for a primary daily driver vehicle. No more than four years old and no more than 40,000 miles on the odometer. I ask for or buy a vehicle history report. Vehicles with a strong, regular service history, one previous owner, no accidents, no rental or fleet history are your best bet. Ask about any remaining factory warranty left on the vehicle too. If you see multiple service visits for the same problem, that's a red flag. So is a repo, recovered theft, or a "manufacturer buy back". The term "manufacturer buy back" is another name for a lemon and you don't want it. If you decide to buy something far away from you have the vehicle inspected by a professional inspection company. Never buy a vehicle sight unseen, especially a used one. Good luck with your shopping! Jim
