Are new Lincoln cars less expensive in states other than Calif.? If so why?

It all depends on how the car is equipped.
Plus MSRP is the Manufacturer SUGGESTED Retail Price. You are correct, the manufacturer suggests to the Dealer what they should sell the vehicle for. But the Dealer can sell the vehicle for whatever they want as long as someone is willing to pay that price. Basically the manufacturer sells the vehicle to your local dealer and says hey, we think this is how much you can get for it. Prices do vary by region. Perhaps the California vehicle has added enissions equipment that's not required for the rest of the country. Or maybe that type of vehicle is more popular in California than in Mississippi. There's lots of variables. The trick is to find out about what the Dealer paid for the vehicle and try to get a price as close to that figure as possible. Remember, they have to make money too, just not too much, lol! Hope that helps! Jim
