2004 Nissan Titan not starting

Asked by daniel_w_dobyns Mar 25, 2020 at 11:18 PM about the 2004 Nissan Titan LE Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had replaced my battery about two weeks prior to the problem of the truck
not starting.

Truck is my daily driver but sat for two days over the weekend. Went to start it
before work one morning and all power just seemed to drain.

Hooked up a charger/jumper to try and jump start it and it had the same
battery drain on turn of ignition.

Lots of clicking noises and power flickering.

I'm not the most mechanical individual so any advice starting with the really
simple cheap stuff would be greatly appreciated.

Do you hear a rapid clicking of the starter. This is the solenoid. The starter could be bad, or the electrical connection to the starter could be bad. Try checking the wires to the starter and make sure they are tight( including ground wires) you might have a bad/stuck starter or worn flywheel teeth if you have confirmed that all the electrical connections are good but it still won’t work

This is the symptom of a parasitic battery drain. Usually caused by a computer module that's not going into "sleep" mode. It stays awake and continues to draw power. If you have a good ammeter you can try diagnosing the problem to find out which circuit/module is drawing power. But it can be tough to find. Here's a step by step to finding the culprit: https://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/battery-dead-morning/
