2004 Nissan titan won't start

Asked by Lisamray Oct 09, 2017 at 01:25 AM about the 2004 Nissan Titan LE Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Nissan Titan that ran perfect sat for
2 days and now won't start, I replaced the starter,
the starter relay, battery and ignition switch it's
been at a mechanic for a month they said it was
the computer that was also replaced, it still won't
start!!! Supposedly it will start from the engine but
not from the ignition and the mechanics can't
figure out why it won't start.

I think you need a technician , I don't think a set of tools and a garage makes you a "mechanic" , are there different keys that you use ?

Same issue here. It's now July of 2018, and apparently nobody has a real solution to this to date. Happened to my gold se 4x4 2004 titan just yesterday. New key chipped at dealer less than 2 months ago. Truck had been running fine. After work, went to fuel station, and filled up from 1/8 of a tank. Wouldn't start. Just cranking like the security issue with a bad key. Got fed up with it after trying all relays and a few other things ( advanced auto was literally 200 feet away). Left truck in a parking lot and came back at midnight with spare key just in case. Started right up. Just seems so bizarre. If it happens again, who knows what I'll have to do? Apparently nobody does.

Happened again yesterday and I let it sit 15 min. Started up, then died at stop sign but restarted. Again today, but waiting hasn't worked yet.

My 2004 Nissan Titan King Cab would take spells of turn key on other than dash lighting up nothing usually 3 or three times or more then start. I saw a video where there battery terminals are not clean the positive side has a fuse box on it, saw where a put a new positive post & top of the fuse box replaced and cleaned everything. Take to garage alwayed work fine then 2 or 3 months later same problem. Claim is a common problem on Nissan’s.

Mine was on the fuse board. Black part. I can't remember what it was called. It acted like how a bad fuel pump acts. Wouldn't drive and would idle really rough. Cheap part to replace. Get em from the dealer too. Did I say cheap lol. Hope this helps!
