Clearing a PENDING P0405 code after replacing vacuum switch
A shop diagnosed and replaced the EGR vacuum switch on my 2002 Nissan Frontier 4 cyl 2.2L XE with 80,00 miles on it, they cleared all of the codes, the "Service Engine Soon" light went out and a PENDING P0405 code remained. I am assuming the problems was correctly repaired. They told me to drive the car for 200 miles OR follow a strict speed up and slow down procedure they found in the manual that takes 20 minutes of driving. Problem is that it is difficult to follow the procedure to drive at 60 mph for 8 miles then 30 mph stopping and redoing every 1/2 minute 5 times then back to 60 mph for a few minutes due to traffic and possible illegal driving issues with doing it on the freeway. Also the 200 mile regular driving did not turn off the pending code. SO.... and other ideas? Will avatar666’s solution work for this problem.
