Are the alternators of Nissan Sentras interchangeable if the engine size is different?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I am trying to replace my 2003 Nissan Sentra alternator and its engine size is 1.8. I'm wondering if an alternator from a 2.5 will work.

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_years/nissan-sentra-alternator-2003.html shows your 1.8 (4 Cyl 1.8L | GXE, XE) alternator looks like this
yes it will...you dont want to run less amps than the orig.one has/had...check/change pulley as/if needed.
I'm super late to this discussion, I know, but I just accidentally ordered an alternator for a 2.5L 2003 Nissan Sentra, but needed one for a 1.8L 2003 Nissan Sentra GXE. So I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried this to confirm that it is possible. Worst case, I have to return the part, & order the proper one. But I'd like the one I ordered to work, since it's 100 amps, rather than 80 amps.
