how can you turn the service engine soon light off

Take the vehicle to a service station or Advance Auto parts equipped with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner. They will be able to read the diagnostic codes which are causing the light and clear them out, which may keep the light out for a little while. You will have to fix the root cause eventually, though.
