2002 Nissan Xterra will not start but security light keeps blinking
I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra that will not start. It will make a few clicks when I turn the key,
but nothing else. The security light keeps blinking, and I'm wondering if it has something to
do with the security system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
my 2002 chevy impala was doing this all the time for years. I learned that if you keep the key in the ON position for a FULL 10 MINUTES than it will start. It has had a computer changes and since than for some odd reason does it rarely now. many people have this issue and never had a recall
2002 xterra has the very same issue. Pin #3 of park neutral position/starter relay in engine bay relay/fuse box is direct feed to the starter solenoid. Jumper it to the positive side of the battery with the ignition in the run position. Leave that relay plugged in when you jumper it the battery. If starter and battery are good it will start if it doesn't think it's being stolen.
