Nissan Xterra No power unless key on

Asked by XterraB Jan 31, 2022 at 08:42 PM about the 2002 Nissan Xterra XE V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2002 Xterra was just fiunctioning properly hours ago, (Key fob working,
power locks, lights, etc.) and then when parked to go inside, went to lock
with fob and no response. With key out of ignition i am getting symptoms of a
dead battery. No power to anything listed above. Only when key is in the ON
position is it working or wehn vehicle is running (Everything works as it
should). Any ideas?

Going to try replacing the battery in it today, but I still find it odd that I cannot operate power door locks without key in ignition. Battery went dead once before and never done this
