The Car struggle to past the 140 k/h on the highway

Question type: General

Hi, I just bought this 2001 Pathfinder 5 speed. Never owed a truck before. I'm not really sure if this is normal for these type of vehicle. When driving on the highway the car struggle to past the 140 k/h speed. It does get to 100 - 120 pretty quick, But on the fifth gear it seems to just lag.

This year Pathfinder (with its Maxima inspired engine) appears to have a limiter which engages at 105 mph or about 170 kph. That is plenty fast for an SUV. I have an LE and hence it is an automatic, but with nearly 270 km on the engine (no, that is not a misprint), it is still plenty peppy! Is your check engine light on?
