Yes, your engine has both. Scan for fault codes. A crankshaft position sensor failure will show code P0320. Camshaft sensor failure will show a code P0340. They both provide the ECM with ignition and fuel information and often confused....replacing the wrong one. Just pay attention to your fault codes and you will be okay.
I have a 2002 Ford taurus wagon and crankshaft wires broke off how would I put it back together

Your 2002 Taurus wagon came with two engine options and they were both 3.0 liter V6's. One is the Duratec double overhead cam, and the other is a more conventional push rod overhead valve (not cam) engine. To identify the correct engine, the parts guy will ask you for the eighth digit of your VIN number on the dash as viewed through the windshield from outside the drivers side. The 2.0 liter engine is a four cylinder never used in the Taurus. Okay. The crankshaft sensor is held in place by a one bolt. Leave it alone...it's set to a specific, critical depth to the flywheel. A two wire pigtail plugs into this sensor. If there is enough clean (but broken) wire to work with, it can be soldered back on, without mixing up the black vs white wire...it's polarized. Or you can get a new pigtail and solder that in the same way...correctly. Do a good job or you will be walking home some night. All these parts are cheap but vital. And make sure you get the engine correctly identified.
