after my 2000 maxima ilde's for about 5-10 minutes smoke starts coming out of the engine compartment there's a oil leak somewhere by the exhaust and I can't seem to locate it.....any idea.

oil leak by the firewall leaking down.

Spray some solvent like "Gunk" or the like, wipe as best as possible with a rag to get as much oil off as you can and start it and watch. Steam cleaning would be better, but that can get in to critical electrical components..not good. My guess is valve cover gasket, but that is all, a guess, just clean as well as you can, especially around valve covers and, like I say, watch closely to see where oil begins to appear
