Where are the Ads for the Ford C-Max?
Asked by Fordcmaxfan Mar 03, 2014 at 01:08 PM about the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid SEL FWD
Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I own a Ford C-Max and I/we are really enjoying it. I have had it for nearly 11 months now. I have noticed for the past 11 months that the Ford C-Max is rarely if ever seen on or in any Ford advertising spots on TV. Just wondering why Ford is NOT being more up front in attempting to advertise the C-Max?

Are you getting the mileage they advertised? I understand a unsatisfied owner sued Ford for that very reason

Excellent mpg's. Usually 41 to 46 by the time for a fill up. If you drive it hard you will not get these numbers. Just drive sensibly and you will get good results. Driving this car is a lot of fun. It has plenty of power and rides like a bigger car, due to the weight and suspension. I am a geek at heart and love all of the technology the car has. If you have not, be sure to test drive one. You will be surprised.

We get 40 to 45 mpg sometimes we get over 50 mpg. The most I got was 58 mpg.

I like my 2014 C Max a lot but have never averaged above 46 MPG. Mileage has always been lower on highways and in the cold. Winter long distance driving averages 38 /39 MPG tops. Car takes 10 minutes to heat up enough to run on the battery. Wished I lived somewhere warm... and flat.

I thought I'd chime in here, because the car definitely gets the MPG Ford originally advertises. I had a 2015 and now a 2016. I drove a total 90k miles between the two. Over 75% is highway driving. My all time average is 45MPG. That's with 20-30% of highway driving being over 75MPH. I'd estimate at least 15-20% of highway driving was done between 85 and 100 MPH. Most importantly, I never discharged the battery more then 50% and still got 45MPG. More economical driving could easily average 47+ MPG. On the highway driving in a moderately hilly area, on a 60 mile trip I would regularly 48-52 MPG. Ford made the best plug-in hybrid ever made and no one noticed. A perfect combination of econonomy, comfort and performance.
