Unrelated, unless the mechanic screwed something up doing the work. Take it back to the shop, 99% they will deny doing anything wrong but don't know what else to suggest

Thinking it could be the control switch

If the fan stays on, Its definitely something they did. If its just rolling in without a fan, its normal. You probably just never notice.
