My 1997 niisan sentra was stolen recently, and the amateurs they had to be when they cut out the cat converter cut the the female disconnect off the wire harness. I replaced the cat, exhaust manifold, and spliced 1/4" female disconnects I bought from auto zone and reconnected the O2 sensor to the harness reset the code and the check engine light came on with codes for The O2 sensor and ECG. also my steering wheel shakes violently after reaching speeds above 60 mph. I commute 130 miles a day round trip and do not wish to end up stuck on the parkway somewhere. any advice is greatly appreciated.

You might have to bite the bullet and buy another car. I know, easy for me to say..not my money. But geez, you don't know WHAT all happened while it was gone, and only a small % of stolen cars are ever returned to owner, and then it has been through the wringer and future problems are likely

I had my guy look at it, I've been using this guy for almost 15 years and I had him look at it before fixing it when I got it back and he said she was worth saving, which I did. The bad news is That Nissan doesn't generally make OEM parts and most often require them to do it which is way out of my budget. Thanks for the response

I had a car stolen. It was a car my Dad gave me when he quit driving, worth more than money, a feeling of being 'violated' I can't describe. Never caught the thief, but I don't think the cops put much effort in to it. And I will never figure out how they snatched it, had to be a flat-bed/winch, I had all keys.
