I have to continue to add transmission fluid to my Alero to get it to move. What could be the problem?

I have to continuously add transmission fluid to get the car to move.  I can't
figure out what is wrong with it.

Well thats why you are adding fluid all the time. Have to be careful as you run it low too many times you'll burn up the trany. Need to see where it is leaking and get it repaired. I was looking up tranys for this, not bad, if you fry yours, $1730 for a re-manufactured one plus labor...

What do you think it would cost to have it looked at and repaired?

I am not sure, but it should be reasonable. Take it in and have someone look at it and get a quote. That way your not committed.
