First make sure the latch itself isnt just jammed. push down in the center front edge of hood where latch would be, gentle pound your fist on a soft cloth firmly around the perimeter of hood to ensure its not frozen or stuck. Try having someone else pull the release handle while you pull up on the edge of hood above headlights just be careful not to bend or damage the paint. If the pull handle itself is broken, look under dashboard and you should be able to see the cable itself leading from the handle. Try to remove the handle from the dashboard. On the Iintrigue is should be fairly simple, just remove the fabric/plastic panel under the dash (held on by a few clips or screws above footwell and you should be able to unhook the cable from the pull handle with some pliers and then pull the cable end with the pliers or some vise grip pliers. if the cable is severred somewhere it will require a lot more work. let me know if the above works first. If the cables severred, you might have to go under the front of car and unbolt the latch itself if you can access it from under the car. ill look at my mother's intrigue if you say the other options dont work and walk you through it.
we took the radiator out and some one shut the hood with the hood latch cable undone and now I can't get the hood open.
Sorry for delay, if you go under the car you can reach the latch if you reach your hand up through the opening directly in front of where radiator was seated. theres a plastic shield on the other side in front of the long opening with a cut out where the latch sits bolted to the radiator support. theres a thin slit cut out of the plastic shield where you should be able to fit your fingers or a screw driver and push the latch where the cable attaches to. Ill see If I can add pictures to this post so you can see it from the top side. I was just out looking at my moms car.
The latch is broke where you pull inside the car I took the hook off that clicks the hood shut but I think you have to pull cable to but it's broken
