1996 Ford Mustang - Broken Battery Tray

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
My 21 yo daughter just inherited a 1996 Ford Mustang from my elderly father. I
have been told that the battery tray is broken. How serious is this and how
much should a repair like this cost?

There is usually a plastic battery tray and a metal one. I would not think the metal tray would be broken unless it is very rusty.

I was thinking the same thing, it's probably plastic. How much would this cost to repair or replace (probably replace)? I'm not a car person, I just want to get this car running for my daughter so I can quit driving her everywhere.

Less than $150 total. parts $40-$50 labor don't pay more than $100 common issue plastic always breaks
I would hope the plastic tray would be way cheaper than that even at a Ford dealer. Labor is removing the battery, dropping the tray in place and reinstalling the battery. Anyone can do it in 10 minutes but you will probably need a few tools.
