my car turns over has gas and spark but wont start, why?

Check if your fuel pump is working. When you turn key to position two just before cranking position there should be noise from fuel pump for like a couple seconds.

If you have gas and spark there is just one more thing you need and that is air. Is your air filter dirty and clean the throttle body. Now if that does not work two more possibilities clogged catalytic converter or broken timing chain or belt depending on which one you have.
