Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I realized that my 2006 Pontiac G6 GT Coupe will not blow heat into the cabin only the defrosters. The air conditioning works just fine but right when I turn it to heat it will not come out into the cabin. Is this a vacuum issue? please help me I don't know much about cars and I have a lot of miles on my vehicle so its not worth bringing to a mechanic for them to charge me a crazy amount.

Your car has a heater door blend actuator. The actuator, or the lines controlling it, could be bad. This is a tedious repair for a backyard mechanic but it can be done. It's also possible that the climate control unit is not working properly. That's a easier fix, but more costly. Unfortunately, you will have to have someone competent get under the dash and see if they can operate the blend door manually. That will at least tell you what's going on.

Agree, with norm,it will be the blend door actuator, possible, bad actuator,or it is stuck.
