back tires spin without moving when release brake

Asked by DDZZ Feb 02, 2021 at 12:04 AM about the 2021 Toyota RAV4 LE AWD

Question type: General

When I stop at the intersection, and the light
turns to green, I release the brake, then the
rear tires spin for 1 or 2 seconds, but the car
is not moving. I have to press gas.
The road is completely clean and free of ice.
What’s the problem?
My car is a new RAV4 AWD LE, I changed to
the snow tires last week. I used to drive a
Corolla, so this thing seems to be so weird for
me.
Do you have any ideas?

Are you saying the rear tires are doing a burnout without using the gas pedal? This makes no sense at all.

It’s something with the Stop-Start system. I turned it last night, and the weird thing disappeared. Anyone knows how to handle this Stop-Start system?
