Fifth Wheel distance from top of 5th wheel to truck bed rail.

Asked by mfpjeep Dec 06, 2020 at 06:45 PM about the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: General

I would like to purchase a 2021 Chev Silverado 2500HD crew cab truck.
However the distance from the ground to the top of my fifth wheel is 60" and
the distance from the ground to the top of my truck bed is 58".  This only
gives me two inches of clearance from the fifth wheel to my truck rail.  I need
at least 5", preferably 6".  Any suggestion what I might do to get this extra
distance?  My fifth wheel has a Reese sidewinder hook up.

Talk to an RV shop. Maybe they have a solution. You may want to swap the bed out for a flat bed.
