engine oil substitutions?

Asked by Guru9XMWXW May 28, 2021 at 12:24 PM about the 2004 Pontiac Vibe Base

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I always use conventional oil when I do an oil change in my 2004, had since
new. Suddenly it has become very expensive. Can I substitute synthetic blend
oil without any drawbacks?

You can, just use the same weight oil that is recommended for your vehicle.

No problem. Change oil more often than with 100% syn. Shop Costco for high quality and cheap syn.

I used regular motor oil in my vehicle for years, the past year or so, all I could find in that brand was syn blend, so that's what I use. No problems as far as I know? My last oil change was the first time I used it.
